Application Scientist - Analytical Instruments
(m/f/d)
The Application Scientist – Analytical Instruments develops solution focused applications with the organization’s products to increase the understanding at our customers with a focus on analytical instrumentation. Further the Application Scientist acts as the technical product champion for their focus products, assisting the sales force and our customers in technical and application related questions, as well as performing sample measurements and product demonstrations. Additionally, the Application Scientist supports the organization’s new product introductions by performing prototype evaluation and validation.
Responsibilities of the Application Scientist include :
- Development of application notes that how the focus products should be used the customers' molecules.
- Customer sample measurement and product demonstration the focus products.
- Application support on focus products for the sales force, post-sales tech support group, and our customers.
- Evaluation of prototypes. Building broad knowledge of the organization’s other product lines (analytical consumables, process consumables, and process instruments) to integrate those in the product focus applications and act as backup.
- Maintenance of lab equipment.
- Contribution to customer/distributor training.
- Monitor current developments in academia and industry regarding the focus products and related fields. Participation and contribution to webinars, tradeshows, conferences, and seminars.
- Ensure that accurate records of work are kept according to the appropriate standard.
- Maintain an understanding of current and upcoming technologies in a competitive environment.
- Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in analytical chemistry, polymer science, biochemistry, or comparable scientific background, PhD is a plus
- Experience in the characterization of polymers is a plus
- Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in (GPC) chromatography, light-scattering, and viscosimetry is a plus
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills (German and English)
- Willingness to travel (< 15%)
- Position is office and workshop based in Griesheim
