The Service Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring customers maximize the benefits they obtain in using Tosoh products in their workflow. As part of the Post Sales Technical Support Team based in Griesheim, the role is responsible for providing a wide range of technical, customer service, and sales support, remotely as well as onsite in the EMEA region. Through maintenance and repair, the specialist makes sure the installed base of instrumentation is maintained at the high Tosoh standard. 

The main responsibility is for Multi-Column Chromatography systems and consumables. These systems are primarily used for Biomolecule purification in R&D, pilot and production settings. The position will assume the backup role for GPC systems and detectors used in polymer analysis in a wide field of industrial applications as well as med-tech applications. 

The Service Support Specialist is expected to: 

  • Provide technical support for the assigned product lines 
  • Solve technical and application challenges with customers 
  • Act as scientific liaison between sales team and customers by identifying and explaining effective solutions to customer requests 
  • Analyze samples or methods to assist customers 
  • Install instruments at customer sites 
  • Maintain and repair instruments in the workshop and at customer site 
  • Maintain understanding of new technologies in a competitive environment 
  • Provide Training and technical talks 
  • Ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct, the Quality Management System, the Company Policies and the Corporate Procedures 

Requirements: 

  • Ideally 2+ years of relevant industry experience 
  • Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Chemistry 
  • Experience in process chromatography especially MCC is a plus 
  • Mechanically inclined and software interest 
  • Excellent teamwork skills 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (German and English) 
  • Ability to travel up to 70% 
  • Position is ideally office and workshop based in Griesheim
