Light scattering detection - a compact introduction
Light scattering (LS) detection is a widely used technique to determine the "absolute" or true molecular weight of macromolecules such as synthetic polymers, biopolymers, proteins, and antibodies. In conjunction with size exclusion chromatography (SEC), macromolecules can be comprehensively characterized by light scattering detection, and aggregation or branching can be investigated in addition to molecular weight and size.
